Comments (2) Ich hab gestern entdeckt, dass Amazon Pelz verkauft, und jetzt mag ich da irgendwie nicht mehr einkaufen. Es gibt ja eine Menge Alternativen (der lokale Buchladen ist eine, aber nicht immer unbedingt die praktischste).
Bisher hab ich buch.de, bol.de und jpc.de, dort bekommt man nicht alles.
habt ihr Empfehlungen für mich?
Mein erstes selbstgesponnenes Garn! Das Material kam von sheepish creations auf etsy, es ist superwash Blue Faced Leicester in der Farbe “Antonia” und ich kann bestätigen, was man eigentlich überall lesen kann: es spinnt sich auch als Anfängerin wunderbar, ist superweich und und hat einen sehr schönen Glanz. Die Stärke variiert natürlich noch, aber ich behaupte einfach mal das ist Absicht ;)
Es sind insgesamt ca. 65m auf 100g, und ich weiß noch nicht genau, was es wird. Vielleicht Tudora oder ein Schal – als Schal wäre es bestimmt klasse, weil es so flauschig ist (ich hätte erwartet, dass mein erstes Garn eher etwas härter wäre, weil ich noch viel zu viel Drall im Faden habe, auch nach dem Verzwirnen noch), aber so auf dem Strang fühlte sich das sehr gut an. Allerdings hab ich auf Schalstricken überhaupt keinen Bock, jedenfalls nicht stumpf geradeaus. Und irgendwelche Musterakrobatik wäre bei dem Garn einfach too much, da überlege ich schon, ob ich die bei Tudora vorgesehenen Zöpfe weglasse und eher so etwas in Richtung Ariosa Cowl mache.
My first handspun! I bought the roving from sheepish creations on etsy, it’s superwash BFL in the “Antonia” colorway and it’s true what they say about blue faced leicester: it’s absolutely suitable for beginners, it’s soft and has a beautiful sheen to it. The weight of my yarn varies (on purpose, of course ;)), I got about 71 yards out of 3.9 ounces, and I don’t know for sure what to do with it yet. Maybe Tudora or some kind of scarf – though with that yarn I wouldn’t do anything fancier than garter stitch or stockinette which would make knitting rather boring. Maybe something like Ariosa Cowl.

Die Seastone Monkeys sind fertig. Das Muster hat Spaß gemacht, das stricke ich nochmal :)

Ich stricke grad meine ersten Monkeys. Eigentlich nur, weil ich sie bei alcariel in genau dem Garn (und mutmaßlich in genau der Größe, was angesichts der kritischen Lauflänge der STR Lightweight eine wertvolle Information ist) gesehen hab und ich finde, dass die Farben mit dem Muster sehr schön rauskommen (ich hatte die Pomatomus erst mit diesem Garn angefangen, aber das war viel zu unruhig, also hab ich sie wieder aufgezogen und die blaumelierte Regia genommen). Der Schaft vom ersten Socken ist fertig, und das Muster macht mir wirklich Spaß – und das, wo ich ja so Muster, die alle stricken, aus Prinzip nicht stricke ;)
This is my first pair of Monkeys. Actually I picked the pattern because I saw them in the exact same yarn and the exact same colorway (and almost in the exact same size, which is important as yardage tends to be critical with the STR lightweight) at alcariel’s, and I think the pattern makes the colors come out really pretty (I cast on the Pomatomus in this yarn, but they looked really messy so I frogged them and used two skeins of Regia instead). The first cuff is done, and I’m enjoying the pattern a lot – although it is so very popular and I tend not to knit too popular patterns just because ;)
