Ich hab mir vorgenommen, mir realistische Ziele zu setzen und daraufhin erstmal meine Ravelry-Queue von fast vier Seiten auf eine zusammengestrichen (mit der Fragestellung: will ich das wirklich stricken, oder finde ich es nur toll – in letzterem Fall gehört es in die Favoriten, nicht in die Queue). Außerdem habe ich gerade einen Anfall von Finisheritis, den ich mir auf jeden Fall ins nächste Jahr rüberretten möchte – mehr als fünf WIPs zur Zeit (inklusive meiner Lebensaufgabe Granny Square Decke) sollen es nicht werden. Mal gucken, ob mir das gelingt.
Was Techniken angeht, habe ich Fair Isle auf dem Zettel, und zwar nicht unbedingt traditionelle Muster, sondern Jorids Cat Mittens. Das Muster hab ich schon.
Oh, und ich möchte mein erstes selbstgesponnenes Garn verstricken – aber das wird vielleicht 2008 noch passieren :)
Und wieder ein Paar Socken fertig, und zwar Pomatomus von Cookie A. Ich hatte sie schon im September angefangen und dann irgendwie liegen lassen. Ich mag das Muster. Ich hatte anfangs befürchtet, dass ich es mir nie würde merken können und stets mit gezückter Anleitung würde stricken müssen, aber tatsächlich war dem nicht so. Beim Fuß nachher, ok. Aber beim Schaft wusste ich eigentlich immer, wo ich war. Irgendwie auf clevere Art einfach.
I finished another pair of socks today, this time it’s the Pomatomus by Cookie A. I started them in september but somehow forgot about them. I like the pattern, it’s somehow clever in a simple kind of way – or the other way round. Before I started I figured I would never be able to memorize it, but I actually could, at least for the cuff. I had to look up details on the foot.
Fertig! Mein erstes Amigurumi, ein Weihnachtsoctopus nach dem Muster Octopus von Hansi Singh. Ich glaub, das ist das Fummeligste, was ich bisher gestrickt hab. Das Maschenbild muss sehr fest sein, damit die Füllung nicht durchschimmert, also hab ich die Cool Wool 2000 von Lana Grossa mit Nadelstärke 2 gestrickt – eigentlich ist das Sport Weight. Noch dazu auf einem Nadelspiel in Runden mit zeitweise weniger als zwanzig Maschen … puh! Die Mütze ist nicht original, die hab ich dazuimprovisiert.
I just finished this Holiday Octopus, my first amigurumi. The pattern is Octopus by Hansi Singh. It calls for worsted weight, but I used sport weight, so it turned out much smaller, but that’s ok as it’s going to be attached to a xmas present. I used US0/2mm dpns and knitting with those with a very tight gauge and sometimes less than twenty stitches in the round is really .. demanding.
Und immerhin hab ich’s in einem Strickblog entdeckt, nämlich bei Jinx. Insofern ist es gar nicht sooo OT.
Which Xmas type are you? I’m the Grinch. They peed in my boots and stole my presents. I hate Xmas, I beat up Santas and pour chili into the egg nog. But maybe a little gesture will soothe me? Well yeah, that’s me. Kinda. And since I found it in a knitting related blog, at Jinx to be precise, it’s not all OT, is it?

Ich mag dieses Muster, ich hab es schon zum zweiten Mal gestrickt und werde es sicher noch öfter stricken: es handelt sich um die “Slip Stitch Cable Socks” aus der “Little Box of Socks” von Charlene Schurch. Da sind einige Muster drin, die mir ganz gut gefallen, aber das ist ganz klar mein Favorit.
Das Garn ist von Tausendschön, die Farbe heißt Schlangengift. Auf dem Strang hat es mir irgendwie besser gefallen.

The yarn is by Tausendschön, the colorway is called snake venom which I think is appropriate. I liked it better on the skein, though.
Nun ja. Eigentlich wollte ich mein Strickblog mit einer Sensationsmeldung eröffnen, nämlich der, dass ich am Freitag tatsächlich in den relevanten fünf Minuten den Wollmeise-Shop besucht habe und mich nun auf vier Stränge freuen darf – unter anderem die von mir schon länger beliebäugelte Wellensittichvogelfeder – meine erste Wollmeise-Bestellung! Ich hoffe, es ist wirklich so begeisternd, wie man überall liest.
Well, actually I wanted to open my brand new craft blog with a piece of breaking news: I was lucky at the Wollmeise-Shop this friday and am now waiting impatiently for no less than four skeins of Wollmeise sock yarn, including one color I fell in love with some time ago. I’m excited – my very first Wollmeise!
